Lütkemüller organ from 1856 (II/P/24 stops), restored by the Wegscheider organ workshop.

Additional organs in Waren: the historic Paul Schmidt organ in St. Mary’s Church (1820, I/P/15), the organ in the New Apostolic Church

as well as the organ of the Catholic Church from the 1970s.

12:15 pm: Lunch in Waren

1:30 pm – 5:30 pm: Organ Museum in the island town of Malchow

Museum director and organ expert Friedrich Drese will introduce us to the life and work of organ builder Lütkemüller through a lecture.

The museum in the former Malchow monastery houses a unique collection of historic organs.

8:00/9:00 pm: Informal evening gathering at the Lütkemüller organ in St. George’s Church

Tour leader is Berlin organist Jack Day

Jack is originally from the United Kingdom and studied church music in Germany with organ and organ improvisation as his major subjects. For the past 17 years, the greater Berlin and Brandenburg region has become his home. Jack will introduce us to his favorite organs and will be available for questions and short teaching sessions in repertoire and improvisation.

Jack combines comprehensive training with many years of practical experience as an organist, improviser, and educator. He studied at the University of Manchester, the Royal Northern College of Music, the University of Cambridge, as well as in Tübingen, Trossingen, and at the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts.

A-level church music diploma, concert improvisation diploma. Since 2017, he has been cantor at Luisenkirche Berlin-Charlottenburg and leads improvisation workshops in Germany and abroad.

Jack regularly collaborates with CHORALSPACE, Bulgarian Voices Berlin, the Kantatenchor Waren (Müritz), the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, rbb Kultur, Deutschlandfunk Kultur, the Youth Choir of Deutsche Oper Berlin, and the Ostheim Organ Museum. In 2025, he made his debut at the Berlin Philharmonie under Simon Halsey.
